It is ingenious for David to be using his loincloth as an improvised weapon and his girlfriend came out suddenly not knowing what’s going on exactly.
Well, that was KJ’s idea. It shows how resourceful David actually is, and quite brave when his life is on the line. ^^ That’s Malana swimming up, by the way, not David’s love.
My mistake on that.
So much going on this page I’ll have to split it into two parts! o:
STORY: From the looks of things, it seems that Malana is finally going to realize exactly how bad Jamie is, and how right Leilani was, which I can’t imagine she will be very happy to accept(!) X3
I bet Jamie also didn’t expect David to be this skilled at underwater fighting. Using his loincloth like that was quite ingenious.
I have a feeling someone is about to die a gruesome death…
VISUALS: Hah! I’m happy to see some more male nudity, and I can totally understand why Leilani would fall for a wolf like David… With a rump like that, no one can resist!
I’m so glad to see David puffing his cheeks finally~ I know it’s not very “realistic” so-to-say, (but neither is keeping the mouth open and basically inviting the seawater in xD), but it looks fantastic, and at least to me, makes it clearer that he’s actually holding his breath, and that he might be struggling to do so.
I’ll be holding my breath as well in excitement for the next page(s) ;3

Nice disarming technique David, looks like the “laddie” isn’t as easy as you thought Jamie?
He’s really not. He’s brave enough to follow Leilani into the deep earlier, so he’s got at least a little courage and daring inside him. <3 A lot of action to follow!
And here we go! As others have said, clever use of the loincloth on David’s part. And it’s going to be interesting to see whether Malana recognizes Jamie for the douchebag he really is, or if she remains trapped under his spell and decides to jump in to defend him. Can’t wait to see where this goes next! Fantastic job, Leilani and KJ!

This fight scene was all KJ and Riff’s idea, so kudos to both art/writing on this one. I can’t choreograph fight scenes very well visually.
Malana just see the knife, so we also have a suspense, I still very nervous. QAQ!
