How many movies were made about a young island girl falling in love with a stranger?

About a hundred or so, we imagine. South Seas movies were a big thing around the 1920s and 1930s, before World War 2 and French occupation came into the picture.

In fact, we heartily recommend two movies for South Seas fans, “Tabu: A Story of the South Seas”, and “White Shadows in the South Seas”. You will get your fill of South Pacific culture from just these two.

Oh, three, we forgot “Moana”, and no, not the Disney film.
