The Fantasy Novel of Fantasy Novels!

The Fantasy Novel of Fantasy Novels!

When I first started writing, “Shadows in Light”, the fantasy novel actually started out as a car racing through downtown city streets teeming with mythological and fantasy creatures, on the way to a murder scene that had just been reported. In the car were Kai Eurus, a brutally handsome demi-god detective and Maia Anemois, a beautiful, reluctant assistant from Earth.

And that’s how it all began. That one scene, which could have easily been seen in thousands of movies, sans the creature comforts, of course, became the fantasy novel, “Shadows in Light”.

So, what is “Shadows in Light”? Well, if you hadn’t seen it from Amazon, it was pretty hard to spot. A few local libraries and department stores picked it up but, honestly, this gorgeous fantasy novel was barely looked at. I suppose marketing could have been better. That’s really the “fun” with being a writer and wanting to succeed and make a living at it, isn’t it? It’s always the marketing; how many people you can get checking out your work, and then how many you can keep enchanted with it.

So, picture this:

Maia Anemois, who is unknowingly quite connected to the magical dimension of Nysi Affalon, finds herself falling deeply in love with the head of the demi-god detective team, Kai Eurus, and becomes an amateur sleuth as she helps him in their mission to track down and stop a ruthless serial killer. It’s the typical “alternate world” adventure, except it’s been given a couple of extra hundred-thousand CCs of adrenalin. I mean it; this is the fantasy novel every fantasy lover would gush over.

It’s not just fantasy, I suppose. There’s a lot of gory crimes and crime scenes, and plenty of erotic sex and romance. So, I guess if I were to fully describe “Shadows in Light”, I would say it’s a wild, magical, urban fantasy novel, complete with mystery, crime drama, and some horror laced around it.

One gentleman likened it to the great writers Laura K. Hamilton and Nora Roberts!

Why don’t you see for yourself and give it a read? I promise you, the fantasy levels are high, and you’ll find yourself rooting for Kai and Maia, watching them interact and bicker, and eventually fall helplessly in love – all the while on the trail of an elusive, magical serial killer that can cross worlds.

THIS is the fantasy novel you’ve been waiting for. The fantasy novel of all fantasy novels.

Update: “The Depths” News!

Alright, after some painstaking programming wizardry, and a few hundred dollars or so, “The Depths” website is solid. (except for a tiny “subscription” bug we’re working on)

We’re still playing catch-up with the pages, but that is coming soon, so bear with us. New pages are scheduled for June, July, and August as we put the story arc, “The Children of the Sea” to rest once and for all. We’re extremely happy with ourselves over the new writing and story-lines! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

And what’s next? That, we’re afraid, we live in the hands of people like you who are reading this today, whether it’s your first time visiting us, or you’ve been a die-hard fan for years. We’re thinking of doing short-subject comics for a while, a few spin-offs, like Kalea with her newfound water-powers and the mantas in an undersea adventure, or perhaps you really love the idea of Leilani as the wife of thierry, the French detective, in Paris.

Or MAYBE, you want to know everything that happened in New York City…

That was our current goal, to try to secure funds for “The Depths: New York City”, a wild, dangerous world of organized crime, corruption and drama, where the Roaring 1920’s is ruled by the speakeasy and the tommy gun. In this particular world, the three otters would find their fortunes, their happiness, and sadly their ultimate fates. Leilani, married to David, now accompanies him on adventures as the reporter chases the stories. Malana, completely dazzled by the city lights, wanders away from her “lady-classes” and to the seedy underbelly of organized crime and exotic dancers. And beautiful, sweet Kalea falls in love with a sexy tigress, a practicing witch, who opens the curious, naive otter to the exciting and foreboding world of the occult.

Notice we said early, “try to secure funds”. ????

That’s sort of the boat we’re in. Obviously, neither of us, myself or Paul, really draw respectably enough to warrant a great, popular comic. I can watercolor fat kitties with cute round faces time to time, and Paul is pretty magical with image manipulation. But between us, we’re just not artists in the visual sense.

And so, we need help.

Because we have an exciting NEW ARTIST waiting in the wings and he’s promising a brand new “The Depths” design in the next story arc! So of course, he needs to be paid for his extraordinary work.

We need you. For a monthly donation to our Patreon, and whatever level you like, you can help us get the funds we need to make all these comic dreams into a reality. We honestly don’t want to see “The Depths” end – and we’re hoping if you’re reading this, you feel the same way. ❤️❤️

We’re adding more fan-art, fan-fiction, and as many blogs as we can to try and get our massive popularity back we enjoyed in the 2010s. There’s even plans for Twitch/Youtube shows with our very own Leilani Vtuber! Kawaiiiii! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

 

So, there is a lot to look forward to this summer. All we’re asking for is a little financial assistance. Please consider it and make “The Depths” shine once more…

“The Depths” Archives Almost Complete!

It’s funny, website editing and modifications have gotten a lot tougher since WordPress introduced this “block editor”.

We hate it so much.

But we’ve managed to get most of the archives settled, and now you can navigate them through storylines!

We’re very thrilled to have this new feature finally, as well as a visually-appealing archive area, so readers can get a glimpse of pages before turning to them.
