It really must be heart-breaking for Leilani to learn one of her childhood companions still holds a grudge. Well, that’s unfortunately not the end of things between them.
Maybe Malana doesn’t understand where her loyalties lie. She’s too caught up in two precarious situations; her feelings for Jamie, and her determination to get the best of Leilani no matter what. Good to see Neros, the blue wolf, trying to be the gallant one for Kalea, even if he is on the wrong side.
It’s reasonable to assume that Malana isn’t going to back down from anything, be it a heated argument or a fight to the death. We know so little of her childhood and upbringing but a few things will be made clear soon enough.
And might we add, stunning underwater work from our art team!

As others have noted, Jamie sure looks evil. Not sure what he’s going to try and pull here, but maybe he’ll want Leilani to lead him down there. It would certainly be easy for Leilani to arrange for a “mishap” with his breathing gear. One can hope…
It’s refreshing watching readers actually guessing at the action, and showing so much interest in what we’re doing here. <3 I appreciate that very much, as do my hard-working artists. And yes, Leilani could easily drown Jamie and make it look like an accident, couldn’t she? She’s my undersea assassin. *^^*

This is all part of a flashback….and we know that we don’t see our current lead protagonist in the ‘current’ time….something bad’s gonna happen and Jamie likely had this planned all along…
Given how he got bad mouthed and didn’t care, I’d say he had something in mind all along…now that the raft is far out in the waters with no other people aside from who’s on the boat…’accidents’ could happen…
But I’m just speculating at this point, we have to wait and see…
