And this is a very dangerous situation you should try to avoid. Never go too deep that you can’t get back up. This is how thousands of freedivers, pearl divers, and ama divers have perished through the ages. They misjudged distances to the surface, or dove further than their lungs would allow.
 
Sadly, we don’t have gills yet.
